Natural Arthritis Care in Lansing, MI
We offer a pleasant environment for office visits in Lansing and Carson City, Michigan. We treat arthritis of all kinds, Lupus, connective tissue disease, musculoskeletal autoimmune disease, scleroderma, muscle/joint and bone pain, osteoporosis, performing artist's pain syndromes. Our service is traditional medical care with or without “alternative” advice. Your insurance will be billed for these services. We work with most insurance plans, please call our office to confirm we work with your plan.
We also offer phone consultations for Naturopathic advice by Dr. Alena Guggenheim. We charge $175 for the first consultation. This service is not covered by insurance. These services will be far more useful if done in coordination with a visit to our office.
A nurse, medical assistant or physician in training may interview and examine you, with your permission. Dr. C. Guggenheim will always interview and examine you. We will then discuss your diagnosis and treatment. Other physicians involved in your care will receive a letter the same day detailing your visit. We can also provide a copy for you, if you wish.
Before your visit
Fill out the consultation form to the best of your ability. It is very important that we get an idea of how your whole body functions in order to understand why you are sick. If you are filling this form out on the computer, you can fill in as much information in the boxes as you wish. You can also handwrite this form by printing it first; otherwise, this form may be filled out on the computer and then printed.
If you are being seen in the Lansing or Carson City offices, you may submit it online, fax it to us, or arrive 15 minutes early to your visit and bring it with you.
PLEASE do not wear scents of any kind to your office visit. You will be asked to reschedule if you come wearing any kind of scent. This includes hand creams, perfume, and aftershave.
Bring the following to your appointment
- X-rays. Films are never mailed to us. They are hand carried. Discs are acceptable, but not optimal.
- A list of all current medications, including over-the-counter and herbal preparations
- A list of other therapies tried
- Your insurance card
- Pharmacy name(s)
- The names of all the physicians who should get a record of your visit here
- Locations of labs you have visited for X-ray tests if you cannot bring the information with you
- Your significant other, especially if they can help you or your doctor provide better care
- A parent or legal guardian if you are a minor or need a guardian
For Bone Density Studies
You should wear clothing without metal - sweat suits are fine. Make sure your bone density study is scheduled at least 10 days after a barium test of your bowels.

Cancellations
Please give us at least 1 business day notice to cancel your appointment to avoid missed appointment charges.
